  1. I am actually looking for birth records for a former member, my ggggreat grandfather, Vincent Keeler who was born 4 May 1822 in Rahway, New Jersery. I am looking for his parents. I was hoping your church might have a baptism or birth record for him. I have his obituary and it said that his parents died when he was just a child and I figure that his birth record would be the only place I might be able to find their names. Please let me know if you have them or point me in the direction where I might be able to find them.

    1. Since your ancestor was born in New Jersey, you would find his records there. Galesburg was not organized into a town until 1837. Since you have the obituary (which is very helpful!), check with the Galesburg Public Library and see what records are there. From the obituary, you might be able to glean exactly which church held your ancestor’s membership, since there were several splits and mergers in the 1800s.
