The style of worship at Central reflects how the worship of God has long been expressed and experienced here on the Square. Through our worship service we place before God all we are through the elements of prayer, Scripture, the message and singing of hymns and songs.

The people of Central Congregational gather in worship each Sunday, at 10:30 a.m., honoring God in a way we call “classic worship”.

Communion is served the first Sunday of the month by intinction (taking the bread and dipping it into the cup), or by individual cup. All who love Jesus Christ and seek forgiveness for their sins are invited to the table.

We are happy to rejoice in the baptism of infants, children and adults of our church family during our worship service.

What to expect

We pray that all who enter our doors will experience the love of God and grow in sharing that love. Greeters and ushers are on hand to welcome those coming for worship, to give directions and to answer questions. Attire for worshipers is left up to the individual’s preference and comfort.

Keeping in mind our belief of “every member a minister”, a member of our congregation serves each Sunday as worship leader, welcoming all to worship, making the morning announcements and reading the appointed Scripture for the day.

If you have questions regarding faith and life issues of any kind, please contact the church office at (309)343-5145 to schedule a time to visit with the pastor.
